The YWCA Wenatchee Valley was founded in 1954. The YW association was able to first lease, then buy the Baptist Church located at 212 First Street with money provided by a gift from A.Z. Wells. The Sanctuary of the church was torn down, leaving a building that contained offices, Sunday school rooms and meeting rooms. This comprises the current building. A parking area replaced the sanctuary of the church.
