


Our mission for the Opportunities Job Training program is to provide a community that transforms lives by empowering homeless and disadvantaged women and families to achieve self-sufficiency through life skills, job training, employment, and housing. Cafe AZ's and Second Beginning Thrift offers 3 to 6 months of on the job training. Participants reveive classroom insturction, hands on and one on one job trainig This builds a strong foundation and support system for every trainee who passes through our doors.
The training program combines hands-on food service, barista, and retail training along with classroom instruction, individual case management, interview skills, job placement, and employee etiquette. Preparing graduates to step into an thrive at jobs in the world of reatil and the restaurant and food service industry. Allowing them to re-enter the work force with the knowledge needed to be successful.
RETAIL SALES TRAINING
Our Retail Sales trainnig program is a hands-on way for men and women in the community to learn the skills needed to obtain a living wage job in a retail sales environment. When you come in to shop in our cafe or thrift store you will often see new faces, as our trainees are sometimes only with us for a few months before being placed in a more permanent job and our mission accomplished.
RESTAURANT & FOOD SERVICE TRAINING
The YWCA's Cafe AZ's is the leader in our community, in providing a fun opportunity to gain skills needed to land living wage restaurant and food service jobs through job training. Our training site for restaurant and food service training, Cafe AZ's, provides an opportunity for low income and homeless individuals to change their lives by gaining relevant job skills. Empowering individuals to move from poverty to self-sufficiency. Providing fresh handcrafted food to our customers while providing quality service with a purpose...

Neighbors Care Fund can help
The Wenatchee World’s Neighbors Care Fund is in its 11th year of harnessing the giving spirit of the holidays to raise money for local nonprofits.
The 2010 fund totaled a record $48,565 from 327 donors. Over the past 10 holiday seasons, generous donors have contributed more than $169,000. Helping people find and maintain employment is the overarching theme of the 2011 campaign. Four agencies or groups that work in that area have been selected to be recipients of this year’s campaign. One of these is:
