My name is Tina Bryce and this is my story. I came to the YWCA in May of 2010. I was born in California and I had six children. I had a bad life growing up and I didn't have a family that loved me. I had a family that abused me from the age of three until I was ten. I started running away because of the abuse I suffered from my family, it didn't take long before I was on the streets using drugs and in and out of jail. I left school in the eighth grade because I was always homeless.

I met a man that i thought was a good man, but he used and abused me. I ended up doing three years in prison because of this man's doing. When I got out I knew something had to change so I could have a better life for me and my family. The only thing in my mind was Wenatchee because I had lived there before and I knew it was a good place for me to get my life back. When I came to Wenatchee I got off a bus, went to the store, and I wasn't sure what I was doing; but I knew I was on the right path. While at the store I met a man that told me I should go to the YWCA in the morning and ask for help. Needless to say I am still here at the YWCA and since then I have accomplished so many things, along with my sobriety.

Currently I have been sober since I got off that bus in May of 2010. I now work as a volunteer at the YWCA and receive job training at the YWCA's Cafe AZ's and even helped them open the new Second Beginnings Thrift Store. I now have my own apartment at Bridges Transitional Housing and I continue to work on my personal goals. I thank God every day that I am here and for my sobriety. The YWCA has been an amazing support for me and I finally feel the true meaning of family.
