Local Vision
To empower women and families through assistance, support and education.
A Little Bit of Our History - Our Physical Plant
The YWCA Wenatchee Valley was founded in 1954. The YWCA association was able to first lease, then buy the Baptist church, located at 212 First Street, with money provided by A.Z. Wells as a gift. The sanctuary of the church was torn down, leaving a building that contained offices, Sunday school rooms and meeting rooms. A parking area replaced the sanctuary of the Church.
This comprises the current building.
In 2011 YWCA Wenatchee Valley Opened a thrift store Second Beginning Treasures on South Wenatchee Avenue. It didn't take long (less than a year) for the thrift store to grow out of its first location and was moved to 231 North Wenatchee Avenue, Wenatchee. The thrift store is Operated through the corroboration of YWCA staff, volunteers and trainees. Our thrift store is stocked by donations and helps supports the YWCA Wenatchee Valley programs. The money made stays local and supports our local community.
